My daughter just moved in to her first apartment in a lovely city with incredible views. However, the downside to these perks is that her bedroom is tiny. I mean "turn sideways to get to the closet" tiny. The closet is small too. She desperately needed a full length mirror to get ready in the mornings AND needed storage for her jewelry, headbands, art brushes etc.
I was determined not to make her settle for one of those tall, skinny, $10 mirrors that you see at the big-box discount stores. It may be a tiny bedroom but it's going to be pretty! I stumbled on to this mirror and liked it just for the nice scrolling detail - I didn't even notice that it opened. She and I were online looking together (but in different states) when she gasped and said that it opens for storage. AND it was on sale for a ridiculously low price. I couldn't order it fast enough!
Then I went back and read reviews. Some people said that when the mirror arrived the glass was broken. Not in our case - it arrived in excellent condition, looking just like the picture. Catherine already has it fully stocked, is able to check out her look before leaving for work with its ample length and has thanked me over and over for it. (She did make sure to have it mounted into the studs for stability!)
I highly recommend this piece for its pretty detail, affordable price and double-duty convenience!!

Ok, I took my chances on this clearance item having read from others that the mirror arrived broken. This armoire is substantial, the wood tone is similar to oak, the black scroll is heavy like wrought iron but smooth black. The construction method for hanging it is logical for such a heavy piece, but you really must find a wall stud and not rely on the plastic anchors provided. So even though the mirror was broken, Hayneedle's customer service made the purchase work for me. To summarize, I like the design and the substance of this piece. The door itself is lightweight and I can replace the mirror but not with a fancy heavy quality. There is room inside to add lots of hooks (which I did) and now I can customize and hang bracelets on the inside 4in depth and more necklaces from the top hanging down. But... I would not have picked/kept this armoire if it was full price.
